Mr. Panagiotis Gkoumas, born in Athens in 1984, is an enthusiastic, conscientious, and solution-focused engineer with an academic background and many years of experience in critical administrative positions in the telecommunications sector.

Education

Mr. Panagiotis Gkoumas received his degree in Computer Systems Engineering in 2008 from the University of Piraeus, Greece. He completed adult education and lifelong learning training in the Department of Primary Education at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He is a registered member of the EKPA trainers’ registry and an official LAEK OAED instructor. In 2019, he obtained a Teaching Proficiency Certificate from ASPETE Athens. In 2023, he earned a Master’s degree from the University of Piraeus in Economics and Educational Unit Management. His thesis was on the benefits of lifelong learning in fiber optics technology.

Work Experience

Since 2013, he has been leading the SCHOOL OF TELECOMS as Head of Training. In this role, he has trained and prepared many trainees as future field technicians. He specializes in fiber optics technologies, including fiber optics communications, F.O Architecture, Termination and Splicing, Installation, Design, and Safety.

In the past, he worked as a telecommunications engineer and head of FTTH network departments for major companies and ISPs in Greece. In this position, he was responsible for the design, development, and installation of fiber optic networks, ensuring high-quality services and prompt customer service. He closely collaborated with technical teams to resolve technical issues and implement best practices regarding network safety and performance.

Furthermore, he has extensive experience as a telecommunications and fiber optics technician, having worked on numerous projects involving the installation and maintenance of telecommunications networks. In the past, he has served as a quality manager and safety technician, supervising the implementation of standards. In these roles, he developed and implemented procedures to ensure the quality and safety of projects, conducting internal audits and inspections to meet specifications. This experience has equipped him with the ability to manage large-scale projects, ensure customer satisfaction, and maintain high safety and quality standards.
